Polo Saskatchewan announces new provincial coach |

Regina, August 13, 2007 – Water Polo Saskatchewan (WPS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Cyril Dorgigné as the new provincial water polo coach. WPS Chair Conrad Hadubiak said, “Everyone at Water Polo Saskatchewan is delighted that we were able to hire this versatile and talented coach. We are confident that his presence will benefit the entire Saskatchewan water polo community.” “Water polo has had a long tradition in Saskatchewan and has had much success on the national scene” said Hadubuak, “Our challenge is to invigorate the sport and bring new life to it throughout the province.” The provincial coach will be responsible for all program operations of WPS including the planning, implementation, coordination and evaluation of programs from recreation to high performance levels for club development, coaches and official’s education, and athlete development. Dorgigné will take over the role in September and his immediate priority will be to do an internal assessment and evaluation of water polo in the province. Dorgigné, who is trilingual hails from France. He has a Master of Sport Science and Technology (Major in Training) and a Bachelor of Sport Science and Technology (Major in Physical Education) from the Université des Sciences et Techniques des Activités Physiques et Sportives de Nice, France. His credentials also include a Water-Polo Training Certificate 2nd Degree. He was previously the manager of the Sport Department and Water polo head coach for the Choisy-le-Roi Water-Polo club in Paris. His professional water polo career is impressive including playing for the first league in Nice and Montlellier and being part of the French National Team. Excited about his new role with the WPS, Dorgigné said, “I am thrilled to have this opportunity, and am honoured to be named to the position.
