Taso Harbis' Future Bright on the National Water Polo Scene
Taso Harbis of the Regina Water Polo Association (RWPA) was selected to the Youth Men's National Team. The team represents the top 15 players in Canada born in 1989 and later. The Team will be playing in the Under 20 Pan Pacific International Tournament to be held in Calgary from Dec 26-31, 2006.
Harbis is a seasoned competitor who has participated several national competitions and in international competitions in Mexico and Hawaii. Taso is on the RWPA Youth Boys team coached by Petros Aiginitis and the RWPA Men's team coached by Mike Mortin. The Men's team is currently the 2006 National Water Polo League Men's Champions.
The Club has produced a significant number of elite level water polo athletes both in the Men's and Women's programs. Noah Miller, Kevin Graham and Robin Randall are currently on Canada's Men's National team. Whitney Genoway and Jenna Crook are currently on Canada's Women's National Team.
When asked what he thinks about this opportunity, Taso said, "This is a sweet opportunity. It's a validation of all the hard work and training that goes into playing at a competitive level. I've been very fortunate playing for RWPA. I've got great coaches, the ability to play on both the Men's & Youth teams, and an opportunity to play with members of the Men's National team."
